In this video only one Supressor is advancing to the player but in my attempts, they are advancing both and too soon, like right after the first shooting burst of the terminator at around the 30s in this video! Another detail is that in this video, the terminator after advancing to the player it just shoots a few bullets and not the whole magazine size! That way is easier… So probably from this video to nowadays something has changed in the AI of the game!

    • avatar Гудвин ( Captain Captain Player's Rank 198 )

The left Supressor was not hurt, so he standed at far distance for a long time (you may see that the first grenade player drops to the right Supressor, not to the Terminator).
About few shots of the Terminator at middle distance – he just ends a magazine (his previous shot was interrupted by an aimed shot).

      • avatar HelloShitty ( Lieutenant Colonel Lieutenant Colonel Player's Rank 294 )

The first grenade takes 450 units of health from the left Supressor. So the grenade was launched to the Terminator! Anyway, in that video, the right Supressor takes a lot more time to advance to the player than in my attempts. I had some attempts where both Supressors comes forward right after the first burst of shots from the Terminator!

      • avatar Гудвин ( Captain Captain Player's Rank 198 )

        Well, I was wrong :)
Then it’s just a luck. I remember my attempts of this battle and I felt it harder too, but the enemy’s behavior is not exactly the same every time.
Anyway, I’d drop grenade to a Supressor :)

I am struggling with G Kurbatov at level 57. Which do you think is better assistant for that battle, Rico or Matryoshka. Basically all enemies are armoured so the energy weapon will be 50% efficient only whereas the acid shotgun Rico has will be 130%. On the other hand, distance to enemies will eat up the advantage. My current main weapons (Bulldog and Alligator) are useless for this battle so I am working to get the Ufo pistol and Acid SG. I have acid pistol research completed which is needed for the acid SG research. I am figuring Ufo pistol is better than the acid even with armoured ones and I dont want to waste resources any more for developing the acid pistol at this level. I have the Spartan armour (2500 hp) and the research for the Xi armour. Do you think it is worthwhile to get the Xi anymore; AFAIK, the only added advantage is 1 time resurrection. Still would need to get the chrystalite mine started, though. All that forementioned tech eats a lot of it.

BTW, the Kurbatov battle video is at around level 30. How do people manage that. I get that not all sites need exploring and not everything needs to be picked up but isnt it tough to get resources (anomalies) and the necessary guns when you have only few sites terraformed. Real money? I bet that at Dominion it will be tough times being at levels 70 or higher, no HC battles without medpacks. I still prefer to go through everything.

      Hi Sugarman…

I have just defeated General Kurbatov yesterday. And yes, indeed, the posted video here, looks easier than what it looks now. Maybe game updates have made them harder to kill.I made a video that it’s not here yet but I think it will be soon.

My current techs/research/updates/items used to defeat General Kurbatov were:

      Acid ShotGun (fully upgraded)
      UFO Pistol (fully upgraded)
      G2 frag grenades
      G3 frag grenades
U3 medpacks (I guess I have used any U2 medpacks)
      Psy Strike (Level 7)
      Grenade Launcher (Level 4, MAX)
Roxy (Level 15, MAX at my level 46)
      Attack Mode (Level 2, MAX)

The strategy I used was to try to take down the Kingpin Terminator first, using G3 frags and Shotgun. But this is a matter of luck. You have to try as many times as needed until you get an attempt where both Supressors doesn’t come towards you right at the very beginning.

Try to save as much Shogun shells as you can because you’ll need them for the boss himself and if you use many at the beginning, then it’s harder against General Kurbatov if you run out of shells (it happened to me once, though I lost the fight because of those unexpected bazuca shots or whatever they are)!

      • avatar Sugarman ( Sergeant Sergeant Player's Rank 31 )

        Thanks for the tips, HelloShitty,

Your strategy is pretty similar to what I have planned, except for the partner. Although Roxy is good for normal attacks it is pretty unhelpful for the armours.
I dont have a G-launcher; does that give a lot advantage as opposed to just throwing the G3s. I have the attack mode but never really use it, maybe I should upgrade that as well. I just set up the Recon centre so I dont think I have many enemies there from the Kurbatov battle. But researchng the one I have could help some. I am also at Psy 7, so that could be further developed too.
As for the those unexpected rocket and cannon shots I’ve been trying to “read” the enemy behaviour just before that. It seems that they first do a loading movement then move slightly forward (at least the tank) and fire. One thing that needs to watched is not going for the aimed shot mode at the moment the tank shoots those six granades. It is a pretty bad experience to come out of it to try to catch them all.

  3. avatar HelloShitty ( Lieutenant Colonel Lieutenant Colonel Player's Rank 294 )

Yes, Roxy is useless against armored enemies but I have not researched Rico or Spidey. So, Roxy is the best I have so far!

The Grenade Launcher is not like regular grenades. It launches a grenade that inflicts damage according to the level it is and spends 3 shotgun shells! Read here carefully for more details about Grenade Launcher.

You can use one of this grenades and and G3, one right after the other, for example. In my level, Grenade Launcher inflicts 1666 + post acid damage and a G3 grenade inflicts 2700, I guess. So, combined they can deal about 4300 + post acid damage which is very good to finish a Kingpin terminator in case of emergency!

The Attack Mode, I only used it when the Assassins came down before the Mammoth Tank. But If you know that you are going to have a 10 sec gap between your attack and the next enemy attack, it’s good practice, but it’s hard (at least it’s what I think)!

    • avatar Sugarman ( Sergeant Sergeant Player's Rank 31 )

Thanks again for the tips. I think I will get that launcher at some point. Need to also get the the G3 and U3 medpack package as soon as I have the gems. Especially those G3 are quite expensive.

      • avatar HelloShitty ( Lieutenant Colonel Lieutenant Colonel Player's Rank 294 )

I have collected over 100 G3frags only from robbing the merchant and saved them for these occasions.
Also collected around 80 U3 medpacks and saved them.

  4. avatar Sugarman ( Sergeant Sergeant Player's Rank 31 )

Starting to have my acid SG and Ufo pistol ready. In the meanwhile I have done some trial attacks on him. Damn, it is hard still. I get stopped already in the Terminator-Suppressor-Exterminator scene. Probably the only way is to get rid of the Terminator before any of the Suppressors because if I drop the Suppressor the Exterminator shows up and it is a bit frustrating to keep coming out of cover to all that Terminator fire resulting in the obvious end. But I notice that if I concentrate all firepower to the Terminator (frag first, then acid SG on breaks, occasional psi, more frags) then both Suppressors immediately advance and I am in trouble again. Those example videos look like a holiday compared to that. Shii…

    • avatar HelloShitty ( Lieutenant Colonel Lieutenant Colonel Player's Rank 294 )

Sugarman, that second video is mine and I can tell you that it was not a holiday for sure. I have tried so many times until I finally got it. It’s harder to get through Kingpin Terminator and Supressors than the General Kurbatov itself. And I found this boss way more difficult than the next one (Tyrant Dominator) and even the one after that which is the Dominator Turret that I managed somehow to defeat the very first time I fight it!
Anyway, I think the only way to get though those initial enemies is taking Terminator out first and then take care of Supressores after!

      • avatar Sugarman ( Sergeant Sergeant Player's Rank 31 )

Thanks for that. I saw that in both vids the strategy was to take out the Terminator first. Also with the general the nurses need to go first.

      • avatar Brutus ( Private Private Player's Rank 1 )

I am at level 57 with a fully upgraded acid SG, and fully upgraded UFO pistol with shot gun grenade launcher and Roxy at Lt gen level . I have been trying to get past Kurbatov for last two years . I think the makers of the game have increased the difficulty level to an extent that everybody gives up at this point.

Takes the fun out of the game. You notice that there have been no recent walk through for this

  5. avatar SunSidTDM ( Lieutenant-Commander Lieutenant-Commander Player's Rank 166 )

Is possible to beat Kurbatov without the acid shotgun?

    • avatar Sugarman ( Sergeant Sergeant Player's Rank 31 )

I would say it will be very difficult. Already with acid SG you almost run out of ammo unless you save them in the beginning. And you need to upgrade the SG fully. Came back to edit this because I noticed Brian there just beat Kurbatov using megathrone MG. So the answer is yes it is possible.
EDIT 2: I would say Alligator doesn’t cut it because it has zero effect on armors + it is slow compared to MG. You will need acid SG (and pistol) researched if you want to have the acid cannon, which you will need, unless you go for the Dominion MG with 2.2k gems.

  6. avatar SunSidTDM ( Lieutenant-Commander Lieutenant-Commander Player's Rank 166 )

I don’t have the acid pistol because I don’t have random encounters anymore so I can’t get the acid shotgun so is it possible to beat Kurbatov with only Matryoshka, Chosen one armor and fully upgraded UFO pistol?

    • avatar Sugarman ( Sergeant Sergeant Player's Rank 31 )

You mean you dont get the bug (Overlord) attacking your base anymore? When you attack and defeat the bug you get the Acid Pistol research. Research it and you can get the Acid shotgun research.

      • avatar SunSidTDM ( Lieutenant-Commander Lieutenant-Commander Player's Rank 166 )

I already have the shotgun research, but I need to research the acid pistol first, and since the Overlord doesn’t attack my base anymore I can’t get it, so I’m trying to beat Kurbatov without the acid shotgun.

  7. avatar Sugarman ( Sergeant Sergeant Player's Rank 31 )

Do you get the Dominion MG offers; you could save up some gems and buy that. It is of course quite a lot to save, 2200 g. Strange that you dont get the Overlord attacks, for it’s constant pain. The same with mine capturing. Those I usually just pay off nowadays, the reward from winning just isn’t worth the all that MG ammo you need to take down the axman and the chick.

  8. avatar Sugarman ( Sergeant Sergeant Player's Rank 31 )

There was one player here who said he beat GK with using megathrone MG. I think he had also Ufo pistol.

    • avatar SunSidTDM ( Lieutenant-Commander Lieutenant-Commander Player's Rank 166 )

I just beat Kurbatov after the 3rd try without the acid shotgun or the megathrone machine gun!!!
      Kurbatov

  9. avatar Sugarman ( Sergeant Sergeant Player's Rank 31 )

Wow! that’s well done, congrats. I thought it would not be doable with Ufo pistol only because the damage output just isnt fast enough when, for example, the all the shield bearers approach on you to close range. Or maybe I am just such a crappy player. BTW, at what level were you at Gen. Kurbatov? I was at 57, but I have seen videos of people being around 40.
For future levels I would still think you need to get either the dominion MG or acid cannon (which of course is unavaiable without other acid weapon research). Perhaps the Dominion would also be better for example with Hegemon where you need a fast fire rate and there are many enemies with armor. That one is not possible with pistol only because Hegemon regenerates 6000 hp every 4s or so.

    • avatar SunSidTDM ( Lieutenant-Commander Lieutenant-Commander Player's Rank 166 )

      I beat Kurbatov at level 51 :)
And I have enough gems to purchase the Dominion MG, I just have to wait for the offer, but I have kept my gems for the kurbatov’s pistol :(

  10. avatar Sugarman ( Sergeant Sergeant Player's Rank 31 )

I would rather get the dominion pistol and the Dom MG. I dont think there is such big difference in kurbatov and dominion pistol. I should have kept my level lower to meet Kurbatov to make it easier.

  11. avatar Nick Atkins ( Private Private Player's Rank 3 )

Walk throughs are out of date. Shields offer no protection to the enemies on this boss level. No matter how efficient I am at killing the initial enemies with either a fully upgraded mega mg or fully upgraded acid Scottie, I’m still left with 70k damage to do to the Kurbatov boss with only the UFO pistol, also fully upgraded as by this time I’m out of mg ammo. Impossible.

    • avatar SunSidTDM ( Lieutenant-Commander Lieutenant-Commander Player's Rank 166 )

Lol but I beat Kurbatov with only pistol, grenades and psi strikes. Do you use your shield right before Kurbatov shoots with his canon/missiles? No bullet can go through your shield.

      22032

      • avatar Nick Atkins ( Private Private Player's Rank 3 )

Bomber queen was no problem at all wit a fully upgraded Moloch. Problem is that on the Kurbatov boss enemy attacks go straight through the shield causing continual damage. I’ve tried with fully upgraded megathrone mg and fully upgraded acid shotgun coupled with the fully upgraded UFO pistol. By the time I’ve reached Kurbatov I have a further 70k damage to do and no ammo left.

    • avatar Sugarman ( Sergeant Sergeant Player's Rank 31 )

I think theree are differences in difficulty depending on the level where you are when you meet e.g. Kurbatov. Also, I have watched some walk thru videos (I think it was one of the Dominion bosses) and already from them you can see that the enemies can be different. One video had more enemies before the boss. Possibly even the software updates make a difference. I had once more enemies suddenly appear into an area I had already cleared except for the boss after a software update.

      • avatar SunSidTDM ( Lieutenant-Commander Lieutenant-Commander Player's Rank 166 )

But I don’t think there were any update since I beat Kurbatov so Nick Atkins should be able to beat Kurbatov with only his UFO pistol, grenades and psi strikes like me. If it’s too hard for you Nick, try to kill Bomber Queen to get the acid shotgun.

    • avatar Sugarman ( Sergeant Sergeant Player's Rank 31 )

I am having the exact same frustration with the final enemy in Dominion. Got acid cannon, Protoarmor, loads of stasis and normal G3 granades, but I keep losing almost every time in the same spot. One technical problem that I have found is that whenever I try to shoot at any particular enemy the game does not easily shoot where I want. I keep tapping and tapping and it just wont turn where I want. Very frustrating.

  12. avatar Sugarman ( Sergeant Sergeant Player's Rank 31 )

I had acid SG with UFO and if I remember correctly, I tried to use no or minumum amount of shotgun before Kurbatov to save ammo. Take aimed shots every chance you get, use psi, and grenades. I presume you have bought the bandolier for your MG.

    • avatar Nick Atkins ( Private Private Player's Rank 3 )

Yes, I have the bandolier and full crystalline when I attack, I’ve always reached the 3rd rue animation by the time I reach Kurbatov. See my reply to SunSid. Good talking to you.

  13. avatar Orc ( Private First Class Private First Class Player's Rank 8 )

Lol those videos are a joke – acid pistol and not fully upgraded Ufo and shotgun, no matter it says its fully.
And why the hell Roxy guys, what for 100Hp more? Just stunned!!!
